Aetna and Tummy Tuck
These insurances. I had BCN when I had my WLS. It took me a very long time to get approved for that. I saw a surgeon today for a consult for a tummy tuck. I had made up my mind I was going to pay for it out of pocket verses my insurance. He took one look at me and the weight I had lost and he wants to try to get approval from my insurance. I started a tummy tuck fund and I have enough money from my tummy tuck to pay for my tummy tuck and get one boob for a boob job (lol). It would be great if the insurance picked it up then I would save alot of money. I just dont want to mentally put myself through the stress of being denied. I'm sure alot of you know how hurtful that can be. I plan on having my TT in August. That will them a few weeks to see if they will approve it or not. I guess I just needed to vent a little bit. But the good news is. I can still afford to pay for it either way
. But if I can save some money I would love to take the rest of that money and take me and my hubby on a trip..........Thanks for lending me your ear.........Dayja

Here's hoping ASSna will approve you. As you can see by my name for Aetna I hold little hope. They are the pits in my opinion. But I am forever grateful they did turn my WLS down as without that I never would have gone to Brazil and met the most wonderful doctor I have ever known. Dr. Marchesini. He is awesome.
I hope Aetna does pay for your TT though. I will rejoice with you.. Good Luck!

Thanks Patt. I know they can be just as bad as BCN. In a way I wish the doc would have never even said that he wanted to try to get insurance approval. I could have dealt with the price he gave me and be done with it. Know I have to get my records
from my other docs office. I just did not want the hassel. And I think he gave me a great price.

Dayja, DO try to get approval. Everybody told me that HAP would never approve a tummy tuck, and I won my appeal, and they are paying for my Tummy tuck June 27th. What is the worst that can happen, they say no, but you have saved the money. Think of the things you can do with that money other than pay for something that Aetna should pay for, that is what they want you to do. GO FOR IT, and then appeal it, and appeal it some more. It is not hopeless. When I received HAP approval the Doctor told me that I achieved something that very few people achieve, and I should be proud. I AM! Good luck, and GO FOR IT!!!! Carol
Best wishes to you. I'm still waiting to hear back from my insurance co. I hope they will cover most of what I need done, if not I will appeal it. After losing 219 pounds its not about looking good anymore.
God bless,
Annette

219 pounds. Wow that is awesome. I honestly did not think my stomach looked that bad until the doc took the pictures. Front view was ok. But when I turned to the side (lol). I did get all of my medical records together. It would be nice if the insurance did pay. It will be alot cheaper for me.......Thanks again Dayja
