Awwww, thanks Kathy! This is probably the last time I'll check in before we go.  (Imagine that.....I might have other things to do rather than chat on the board! Well we made it!  Neither one of us backed out, so Dave and I are officially hitched. We had a good time.  I cried in the plane when I buckled the belt. The one thing I didn't like about Vegas is everyone is trying to sell you something.  Every store we went in they swooped down on me like vultures. Also, every place we sat down to eat treated me like I was crazy for not finishing my meal.  We didn't have a frige in our room and we walked all day so I couldn't take left-overs.  The waitstaff always asked me what was wrong, if everything was ok, could they get me something else?????  Then, when we didn't order dessert or alcohol they really thought we were nuts!  It's not a town that is WLS friendly. We encountered a few glitches, but it was fun.....I missed the kids too much to stay away any longer. Hope everyone has a fun and safe Memorial Day. Mrs. M-P (Yep, I'm hypenating!)

Congratulations! Hopefully those tears on the plane were tears of joy?  I also hope you had more fun than glitches in Vegas!  Tell us about the ceremony.  Did Elvis marry you?

Oh my...the ceremony was awful!  We booked a chapel online that looked so cute, but in reality it was dingy and so tacky.  The photographer didn't show up, and the minister spoke such broken English we couldn't understand him.  Then, I am just laughing at all of it and I look at Dave and he was so sincere and serious!  I got the giggles, which I do when I'm nervous so I chuckled through the whole thing and I thought Dave was going to walk out on me!   My mom had my boquet delivered to the hotel, and they never told me it arrived, so I had no flowers, no pictures and I'm laughing like a fool. But we had fun afterwards, and got to see the sights.  We ate at Emeril's and Margaritaville, which were both great. I even got a free room out of the hotel, if we ever get a chance to go back.  But we've been together 8 years and this is the first time we've had a sitter for the kids overnight, so I don't know if we'll get away again any time soon. Another funny note, my last name will be hypenated now, and my boss told me today that it was "too hard to learn so she's not going to let me change it professionally".  Can you believe that? Anyway, thanks for the well-wishes....now I have to lose the 3 lbs. I gained over the weekend!

At least you can see the humor in it!    And you accomplished what you set out to do.  Yeeaahh!  I've been married almost 9 years.  I keep telling my husband we're getting married again when I'm skinny!  Maybe for our 15 year anniversary?

Congratulations Brenda.  I know what you mean about Vegas not being WLS friendly.  Usually if you ask at the front desk, you can have a fridge delivered up to your room.  I am boycotting the Golden Nugget because of their attitude towards WLS people.  They refused to give me a child's rate on the buffet.  As a matter of fact, they discussed this and decided against allowing WLS patients to have a special rate.  I told them that if they couldn't treat me right, that they would not be entitled to any of my money.  We have found that most restaurants will let you split a meal so that wasn't a problem.  Besides being "just enough" for me to eat, it saved us money on another meal. I do hope you can go back again.  By the way, I also chuckled through my whole wedding too.  I still laugh about it today.
