I am 3 years out, and I have eaten the SAME breakfast and the SAME lunch for 2 1/2 of those years.  People think I am wierd, but it is safe for me.  I have maintained my weight loss, and I actually look forward to these meals.   I eat: 1 Grapefruit and a Mini bagel with fat free cream cheese EVERY morning at 0600 Pure Protein chewy chocolate chip at 0930 Low carb wrap with a piece of turkey and cheese and mild pepper, a 100 calorie bag of nacho cheese doritos and a Lemon Yogurt at 1200 Dinner is usually a veggie burger with a lettuce salad with calorie free/sugar free dressing.  I ahve a snack of sime kind in the evening.   Everyone in my house knows not to touch my food drawer. LOL  I even bring my lunch if I am meeting someone for lunch, or even if work is providing lunch, I bring my lunch and just sit with my co workers while they eat what is given to them.  I do not feel punished, and it is worked for me.  I also make sure that I exercise, by walking at least 5 miles every day, I ride my bicycle, I do kickboxing 2 times a week.  Start a good exercise program NOW, because it will benefit you down the road.  I feel more punished if I cannot exercise a day, than I do if I had to miss a meal.   Take care and you are both doing great.    Carol

Sherry, at 3 years out, it is more important to eat a balanced diet, so I do not focus on a extra protein.  I really focus on the 40/30/30/ rule.   This rule is that 40 percent of your daily calories should come from Protein, 30 Percent from Carbohydrates and 30 percent fat and everything else.  For you right now you need to focus a little more on protein because for one, you are still healing, and for another, you have more malabsorption than I do at 3 years out.  I was never very good at the protein thing even in the beginning, and I am not by no means saying that you should not try, but do not punish or torture yourelf.  Take this honeymoon period that you have right now, and learn to eat right, and to make exercise and positive life changes part of your daily routine.  I still do not eat refined sugars even though I know that I do not dump.  I choose NOT to eat beef, and absolutely love the soy meat products, so I get a lot of protein in those products.  I cannot stress enough about exercise, because number one it will help you tone your body as you lose the pounds, and second of all, it reduces stress, and if you were anything like me when I was fat, I ate when I was stressed.  Believe me, there will come a day, when you will not be as restricted and will have to depend on good food choices, and I am so grateful that I can turn to exercise to reduce stress and not evereating, like I used to.  Well, sorry, I wrote a book, but anything you have a question, please feel free to e-mail me.    Carol

I'm still pre op (and the way things are going I may be for months yet) but I bought a cool cook book for wls patients called "Recipes for Life After Weight-Loss Surgery" Authors name is Furtado, Margaret. It all looks good but... you have to cook it. She puts how many weeks out on each recipe so you know if it's something you could try or not... Good Luck! Lexia

I don't see any dairy in there besides yogurt.    Even though milk has natural sugars, you need to drink it at least once a day.   I make sure to get at least three servings of dairy in a day.  Another thing is that you could add another protein drink before bedtime, that's what i did. Linda

Sherry, I'm 13 months out and I have the same thing every morning.      1 scoop of designer whey protein, carnation no sugar added breakfast and 8 oz. milk. About 10 I have 6-12 oz. fat free low carb yogurt and maybe an banana. Lunch and dinner do vary.    A favorite lunch 6 triscuits and 3 kraft cracker cuts. Jeanne
