Swimsuit
HI All,
Went shopping for new bathing suit this year (deaded passage for summer).. Went from a size 22 last year to size 16 this year! Whoo hoo. LOL There are still parts I hate in a bathing suit but that is a given. I think I will feel much better about it this year. And I intend to swim more for extra exercise! I have been doing very well with the exercise; but I am still a very slow loser. 46 lbs now since surgery, 27 before total of 73 since Dec of 06! I have had many people not even recognizing me when they see me! ROTFLO.. Sister inlaw said my butt has almost disapeared..
I still have a long way to go; I want to lose another 66 lbs. at least. I have went from size 24 to 16 and that is great to me. Have seen size 16 in many years! Don't be afraid of the bathing suit this summer everyone; look at it as right of passage to where we are going plus, some of the easiest and best exercise when can do for ourselves. Hi Judy
Any weight loss we have fast or slow is wonderful. Buy that suit and wear it produdly. Ignore other peoples stares live for yourself and what makes you happy. I also swim 3 times weekly and have gone from a size 32 suit into a comfortable 24 and going down soon. It's wonderful for me to be able to shop at K-Marts at half of the price I was paying.
Be proud of your accomplishment....
Good Luck Kathy A.

I have to buy a new bathing suit this year and I'm getting hives just thinking about it. (okay not really, but you understand) I have no idea what size I am at this point. Not that it matters because whatever I put on, I still am going to think I look huge.
Congrats on the size drop. That has to be a great feeling.
I am still pre-op of course, but I go for aqua aerobics 4 times a week...problem is the suits cost so much and they fall apart from the chlorine within 2 months. Make sure if you want a suit that lasts to get a polyester one, it is more expensive and will feel weird at first, but it will last a lifetime. I am a size 28, but I found a bathing suit that has a tank top as the top part and I bought swimming pants made of lace to somewhat hide my legs, so finally I can go swimming proudly and not feel so self-conscious. I used to get stares all the time, but now that I have the pants I get nothing but compliments.
I started eating breakfast, even just one protein bar, doing aqua aerobics with some senior ladies and followed the same "diet plan" for post-op patients, for example I drink a protein shake for breakfast or lunch. I also only use a salad plate for my portions, as well as smaller utensils, chew for 40 seconds (which is a bit over the usual asked) and I started drinking more water.
That's it really I don't exercise much because of my back, but I recently started the aqua (water) aerobics 1 hour twice per week and I am hoping to increase it to 4 days per week. Since I end up in a lot of pain either after sleeping or walking, so this is pretty much the only activity I can do without pain.
