FINALLY!! I'm approved!!!!
After 2 denials I filed a grievance with my insurance company (Priority Health). It was very thorough I thought, and I included letters from my Doctors and highlighted copies of their bariatric policy and my specific insurance policy. I dropped it off during my lunch time Wednesday at their office and sometime after hours they called my doctor's office and said they were approving and reversing the denial!!!
It is my understanding that the grievance committee is a total different group of individuals looking at the information, and possibly they really read it. Who knows. I probably never will. Anyway, something in my appeal seemed to convince someone that it was my right to have this surgery, and in less than 12 hours they approved me.
So, I am obviously feeling very happy today. And MMPC already gave me my date - June 22nd!!

You are on your way to feeling great about your life once again. It is an enormus decision; but well worth it! I am feeling better than I have in years. I am sooooo glad I had it. Would not go back for anything. I feel I have a lot more life to look forward to now; and without deep dread of the future and what it may hold for my health.
