Dr Beane any one???

Anyone gone and seen Dr Beane?  He is in Grand Rapids on 44th St and Byron Center....  I have an appointment with him on June 8 and was wondering if anyone has had him.  All comments are welcomed...

I haven't heard of him and looked in the bariatric surgeon's list here on OH and there's nothing on him there.  It seems that no one here has used him but not everyone that has bariatric surgery reports here.  As long as you are comfortable with him, have checked his background and have asked the questions on his morbidity rate and it's acceptable, then you should be ok.  I just worry that there are other general surgeons getting into the bariatric surgery field and they are not trained to take care of bariatric patients because we are very special and have special needs.  I'm not trying to scare you but make sure you do your homework and have the very best bariatric surgeon available.  Also, you might ask about aftercare and support groups and if you can talk to some of his patients that have had the surgery and have been "out there" for a year or more.  This is a very big life changing step for you and you must make absolutely sure that you and your surgeon are well prepared for it.
