Greetings and best wishes
Greetings and good wishes to all of you. YIKES!! I cant believe how long its been since I’ve been here. On the 18th of September I will celebrate my 6 year wls anniversary. I see so many new faces on the board, although the questions and concerns seem about the same. This site was my connection for staying on track…The camaraderie, empathy, and good advice you get here compares to nothing. I was a regular for a long long time, but these days I seldom have the time to even lurk. Eight days ago I began the completion of my transformation (that all began the summer of 2001). I finally decided the time was right, to have my first reconstructive surgery. 5+ years and down 120lbs...Nobody can say I didn't give it enough thought ehy??? Not sure what took so long, just seemed that there was always so much going on in my life that was more important at the time. I learned to tuck things well!! My initial wls surgery was at BTC oops Barix (I have been away a long time!!) and even though I’m only a few miles from Providence, (where Dr. DiNick also works from) Barix is where I opted to have it done., Hindsight note….from a nurses perspective it’s STILL an outstanding facility, with wonderful staff. Was scheduled to have a belt lipectomy (lower body lift with a tummy tuck) last Friday, but things didn't go as planned. My 12 hour ordeal ended at around 5 hours as my blood pressure was getting a little low and had too much bleeding. Hey I'm not about to question his decision, and even though I was disappointed at first, I figure having all the abdominal stuff done is probably going to make the rest a lot easier. Got 2 of my drains out today, and I'm moving better every day.....And guess what I did while I was stuck in the house??? Yep I came back to this site. Quite fitting actually since this is where it all began for me. My very best wishes to all of you where ever you may be on this amazing wls journey. Denise
