Yes what you are feeling is normal.. Liquids just don't stay in your stomach long at all...Food on the other hand sit in the stomach for a few and that is why we feel so full......Fresh veggies from what I have been told is like 3 or months out.......I hope that you are doing ok ,,,,,,,Take care///

WELL MY BREAKFAST IS ALWAYS A PROTEIN SCOOP AND A SF CARNATION INSTANT BREAKFAST IN 1% MILK.

LUNCH IS USUALLY COTTAGE CHEESE OR SLICED CHEESE.

SUPPER IS CHICKEN OR BEEF WITH A SALAD OR GREEN BEANS.

SNACK IS SOME FRUIT.

I SOMETIMES HAVE A PROTEIN BAR IF I AM RUNNING AROUND AND DON'T HAVE TIME FOR LUNCH OR IF I FIND I AM EXTRA HUNGRY.

ALWAYS GET 32 OUNCES OF PLAIN WATER IN AND THEN I HAVE THE REST OF LIQUIDS USING CRYSTAL LIGHT. SOMETIMES I HAVE SF POPSICLES TOO.

FOLLOW WHAT THEY TELL YOU AT MMPC AND YOU WILL DO FINE. I KNOW ITS HARD AT TIMES BUT TRUST ME IT WORKS!!!!!

HOPE THIS HELPS YOU OUT SOME!!!

At 4 weeks out from surgery, your tummy is still healing.   You should stick to the softer foods and introduce them in one at a time.  Protein is the most important thing right now.   I am almost 4 months out and meat is still not my friend.  Somedays I can eat grilled chicken, most days not.  I can eat things like crab leggs, boiled shrimp and fish.  Fried foods bother me, and steak is out of the question.  I can't eat scrambled eggs, but I can eat it if it is cooked overlite.  Some people can't eat vegs and fruit for a while.  Each of us is different.  At 2 months out I started to eat salads, and I love them.  I love fresh fruit.  They all go down well and I don't get that stuck feeling in my chest.  When you do get that heavy stuck feeling in your chest, try to walk around for a few minutes, that helps.  When you eat a salad, try to add protein like boiled eggs, cheese, bacon bits, ham or cottage cheese to it.  Eat your protein first.  If you can eat the vegs and fruit now, it's okay as long as you still eat your protein.  Try celery with peanut butter on it.  The peanut butter is great protein, and the celery is good carbs with a crunch.  The crunch helps to satisfy the putitary glands, witch in turn helps to curve your craving to eat.  The same for apples, they have a crunch.   I eat alot of fresh fruit.  Grapes, pineapple and oranges are my favorite.  Don't eat it in fruit cups, it has syrup with sugar in it. I have also discoved coffee.  I have never drank coffee in my life, but now the warm coffee seems to comfort my tummy. Just take everything you try to eat, one day at a time.  Somedays you will be able to eat things, somedays it will come right back up.  It is okay to drink your protein shakes. Alot of times, one or two bites and I am done.  Remember, they made our tummies alot smaller, so we have to remember a few bites will do for us.  Just eat several times a day. This is an exciting learning journey we are on.  Have fun with it.
