Weight Gain from Surgery?!?
Hi Michelle, sorry about the IV fluid weight gain. Glad you are home and posting after your surgery though. When I had the perforation, I gained about fourteen pounds while not even eating after five days of continuous fluids running in. I was under my admission weight six days after my discharge. I would bet by next week the water weight will be off of you.
Hey Michelle! Sorry about the surgery! It takes about a week and the best part I found was that after each of my post wls surgeries, I lost more weight afterwards, even if I had been on a plateau! It does something to your metabolism. Don't worry about the water weight, it is good for your body to flush all that anesthetic out of your system too.

Wendy,
Thank you! I was hoping that I would start dropping again after this surgery. I haven't lost much in the past few months, but I have gone down another size, so I know I am still moving.
Funny about the anethesia (sp??). I was soooo hungry yesterday. Couldn't eat or drink anything after midnight on Monday. So, 11:45 pm I have a protein drink ****il 12 am). Surgery was to be at noon, but got delayed and I finally got in there about 1 or so. I was hungry. I was thirsty. Finally got something to drink after I got out of recovery (about 3:45). I was so out of it that I drank with a straw! Did not even realize until we were almost home last night that I had a straw in the cup. But that's not the funny part. I was very hungry. And I kept dozing off. So we are past Flint and I ask my hubby if we are going to get something to eat. All I wanted was soup. He said we would stop in Saginaw. So I grabbed the animal crackers out of Jacob's bag and started on one. I was so tired, that I fell asleep. I woke up to my husband putting something in my hand. I asked what he was doing. He laughed and said he was putting the animal cracker back in my hand because I had dropped!
Then today I was to pick up Jacob at daycare. I fell asleep and was late! Ugh....hope to feel better soon.
