My surgery was postponed

Yep...................after setting up the FMLA at work, the mental preparation, liquid diet and other not-so-pleasant preparations, my surgery was postponed today while in pre-op.  Turns out I have Atrial Fibrillation and should only be postponed a short time until I get my heartbeat regulated.  I am ok with it and there is more info in my blog if interested.  Please keep my seat warm on the loser's bench.

Oh Shelley, I'm sorry to hear this. But it is much better to be safe than sorry. We will keep a nice warm spot for you. I know it wont be to long ~even though when you are going through the process it seems like it takes forever. I will keep you in my prayers. God bless, Annette

That's a good move on their part and you ar cool for understanding and dealing with it. It will probably be just a short while before you get your day. We will be here. I just pushed Jon off the bench  and made room for you. kp

So sorry to hear that.  Sounds like you got a good attitude about it though.  Just curious, I see you mentioned a liquid diet and I  noticed that Dr. Schram is your surgeon.  He was my surgeon as well and at that time (over 3 years post-op), I didn't have to do a liquid diet.  Is this something new for the surgery?  I didnt' have lap, I had open RNY, does that have anything to do with it?  Again, sorry to hear about your surgery being postponed and I wish you all the best! Hi Kerri,  The liquid diet is only for the day before surgery so it's really not a huge deal.  All clear liquids.  Thanks for the well wishes! Shelley
