Hi Suzanne, Glad to hear you are recovering well. Didn't know you were having surgery. But yes, it is amazing how different things are after the weight loss. Just little things that you wouldn't normally notice are really a big deal. Take care, Carey

thanks for the reply, how is your back doing?  I kept the surgery quiet because it was not WLS related. LOL

I am happy to say - no back spasms!!!! I've been just sticking to the power walking - no running. Knock on wood - I don't want to jinx myself. I walk for an hour and swing my arms like a lunatic to get my heart rate up and it's good. I went tonight by myself - my hubby was studying. So I borrowed I daughters Ipod and did my thing. Probably a little too much swing in my step but I enjoyed the music. LOL!!! I think I'm a little wired from walking so late tonight. Trying to hurry up and get tired so I can catch some zzzzz's. I thought I missed something - I'm glad to hear you are doing well.

Sometimes walking by yourself can be fun to. I walk with DH and it allows us time to talk without any distractions but there are sometimes I want to walk with my MP3 player and just veg. I notice that I walk faster when I am listening to the music. I always walk a mile but I have been trying to extend it. Last week we rode our bikes around the neighborhood and ended up riding over 5 miles. It was an awesome feeling. The good weather helps us in that department huh?

Yeah, I know what you mean.  With the music I actually knocked 5 min. off my walk last night.  I definitely was walking faster.   I figure it is about 4 miles that I am walking.  I am used to walking on the treadmill rather than outdoors so this has been quite different for me.  I think I am really liking it.  Because on the treadmill if you feel like getting off you can.  Outdoors, you can't .  You have to get back home!!  So you have no choice but to keep walking.  I'm actually anxious to weigh myself on Sunday.  I've been a good girl.  Last Sunday when I weighed in I dropped 3lbs!!!    I was doing the happy dance.  I really do want to drop 20lbs.  Plan on walking tonight and twice tomorrow to makeup for those rainy days.
