I have read about this too. But I don't know how good it works. Remember the stages you went thru week b-4 surgery, surgery week and after ? Thats what they mean. The fasting, clear liquids, etc. But I saw someone say that it isn't healthy for your body going thru that "starvation stage" again. When I did it for surgery, don't remember knowing it was starvation. But my body did !! Lasted for about 2 wks. That is when I knew I wouldn't ever be eating the same way again. So call it food withdrawels. I have plateaued out too & it only  has been 6 wks. But I go in for my first fill 6/21 & will see what they tell me then. I know myself, that I overdue it on my daily calories. Suppose to have 800-1000 a day. Sometimes, I have 1200. But I feel wonderful, lots of energy. Walk 2-3 a day & loosing inches like crazy. Just not the pounds..But I also quit smoking pre-surgery--been 2 months now & I know that plays a part in how I feel too.  Hope this clears up the back to basics for you & good luck if you try it. Also people say get all tha****er in daily, plus more than the 64 oz needed..                                                         Pam-busdriver

Here is the "famous" plateau buster diet I have seen float around OH.  I have never done it but some swear it works! How to break a plateau #1 - Do this for 10 days to break a plateau #2 - Drink 2 quarts of water a day #3 - You must have 45 grams of protein supplement and all your vitamins/minerals supplements each day #4 - You may consume up to 3 oz of the following high protein foods, 5x a day beef pork chicken turkey lamb fish eggs low fat cheese cottage cheese plain yogurt or artificially sweetened (?) peanut butter beans/legumes You may also have: sugar free popsicles tea or coffee sugar free soda sugar free jello broths/bullion (sp?) crystal light drinks #5 - If it's not on the list, you can't have it for 10 days!!!! #6 - Keep a food diary and try to get up to 30 mins of exercise daily I am sure what some people mean by getting back to basics is getting all of your vitamins and water in, not drinking until at least 30 mins to 1 hour after your meal, making sure you are getting in your exercise, 3-6 small meals a day and protein first ALWAYS, cut out grazing and snacking and cut your carbs back if you have let them creep back into your diet. I hope some of this was helpful to you!

Like Jennifer posted above, PROTEIN, PROTEIN AND MORE PROTEIN.  Watch your carbs and drink LOTS of water.  If you do this, you will watch the pounds fall off. Good luck to you! Jenn

The only thing I really have to add is, back down on the bad for you carbs (chips fritos etc). It's ok to have good carbs that come from veggies, and fruit. Increase your water, and your exercise.  We all hit plateaus every now and again. It gives your body to a chance to rest up and adjust itself. My longest plateau lasted for 5 months. I talked with my nutritionist about it and she look at my food journal. Turned out I wasn't taking in enough calories. I had to nearly double them. Started losing again, and lost the 12 pound's I had regained (and was starting to freak out about).  Because my body wasn't getting enough caolries or nutrition it held on to what it was getting and refused to let go of anything, including pounds. Hope this helps lula T. God bless, Annette
