Blue Cross Blue Shield Messa PPO Choice 2 anyone?

Im a teacher and trying to see if anyone has the same insurance as I do and how long they have been taking?.... I have been told from orientation to the surgery w/ bcbs messa and all my tests working out right.....about 4 months...

anyone have anything they can share?

I have Messa Super Care 1.   This is not a ppo but it the same company.  I called the insurance 3 days after the dr.'s office submitted.  they said call back in a week because it takes some time for the information to be entered in the system and then they can verify that they received it, then they said it could be anywhere from 2-6 weeks.  I called a week later and was told that they just finished entering the data .  The woman was a pre-approval rep.  she reviewed while i waited on the phone and in less than 5 minutes later said I was approved.  the letter took about 10 days later.  keep your head up.  and keep documentation.  good luck.

I went from paperwork to cut in three weeks. It was a waltz for me. I'm not sure how long the deal is now. I would imagine the speed of the office will have an impact. What district? kp

Kat, I have MESSA Choices II.  It was pretty easy.  Paperwork was submitted April 4th and by April 12th I had an approval letter in my hand.  The hold up was with the surgeon rather than insurance.  I could have had surgery 1st week of June, but wanted to wait until school was out.  I didn't need to have tests or psych eval before the paperwork was submitted.  My surgery is coming up on Thursday. This is exactly how mine went.  I could have gone earlier but I wanted to hold out for school. I had my chitlins fixed on June 15. kp
