Hi Everyone!! Has anyone purchased the Bariatric protein pack from www.bariatriceating.com ? A few years ago I tried the Body for Life program and LOVED the EAS myoplex lite shakes, but it was only one a day. From all of the reading I have been doing (here and in my info pack from the surgeon) that number is going to increase to 2 or 3. So, I figured I would want to sample a variety. I just found out I have H pylori in my tummy so I am on mega horse pills for the next two weeks(8 a day!!!), I think I will have a date by July
and I was going to start the protein well before the surgery to get my body ready.
Thanks for your time and info!

Nicole I want to make a suggestion that everyone here will agree with. Do NOT go and buy a lot of protein for after surgery yet. Getting started on protein supplements now will only help you, but I would suggest not buying very much now. Your tastes will DRAMATICALLY change after surgery, and what often happens is you will find a protein you like pre surgery and after surgery you won't like it! If you want to buy the sample pack go right ahead, but save it for after surgery. For now, if it were me, I would just go get some of those shakes you like to start supplementing but would only buy them as you need them because again, you may not like them or be able to tolerate them post surgery.
I hope that helps!!
No I didn't! I made the mistake of buying SEVERAL large tubs of powder. GNC has a GREAT return policy though.....save your reciept and they give you your money back even if it is open and used. I found that after surgery I couldn't do the powdered protein. It made me WAY too full and kept me full for too long so I couldn't hardly get anything in (water OR protein). When I was doing all/mostly supplements I was drinking the Isopure Zero Carb ready to drink. It is expensive, but is like a juice and didn't fill me up as much. Had I known then what I know now I would have bought unflavored powder and mixed it into every bit of food I could while in the first stages. There are creative ways to get extra protein in the beginning along with drinks. I am sure someone else will come along with more advice I can't seem to remember right now

Hi Nicki,
I did buy the sample packs of protein from bariatriceating .com. As a pre-op, there were some I didn't care for at all, and some I really liked. I'm glad I got the samples. After surgery, I liked the ones I didn't like pre-op. I would recommend trying the sample size to try pre-op and post-op. tha**** you can try them and only get the ones you like. Some of the G.N.C. stores will give you a sample (or two) of protein to try. I had H pylori pre-op tp. Yep lots of pills to take, but you want to make sure it's cleared up before they start your surgery. Best wishes to you.
