how much protein are you getting? that is one of the keys, have you talked to your nut? you will see a rest in loss around this point. your body is playing catch up from the surgery. get the proteinin and water, it will come off, hang in there. teri

Hi Margaret...you just had major surgery. Your body is trying to figure out what happened. Don't worry...you WILL begin to lose weight soon enough!! I have always lost a few then stalled each and every time. I still wonder how I lost as much as I did....
Just keep drinking and walking get as much of your water and protein in and you will be ok. I promise!!

Hi Margaret! It was hard at first (and sometimes still is) to get all of the protein in.  Just keep trying every single day.  You will probably have to use a protein supplement to get in all the protein you need.  I think most of us still do this.  It does get easier.  Try not to weight yourself right now.  The numbers on the scale are not important.  It's how you are feeling, then the numbers will fall off. Keep on keeping on... Jenn

Hi Margaret,  Welcome to the losing side. To solve your problem.....2 simple words of advice...EAT MORE!!  Your body is in starvation mode, and you need to give it nutrition!  Find a protein drink you like, and force yourself to sip, sip, sip!!  I know its hard at first, but by the 3rd week you should be getting close to 70 grams or so of protein.  Find a drink that gives you 20+ grams in only 6 - 8 oz. and make yourself do it...it's the only way!! Good luck!! Kathy

Just like everyone else mentioned....try to find a protein supplement to increase your protein intake.  I use GNC 100% Whey protein in chocolate flavor.  Mix it with milk (extra 8 protein per cup).  You can even add peanut butter, but be sure to clear that with your NUT or surgeon first sinc you aren't that far out.  You probably won't be able to drink the whole thing right now, but put half in the fridge and drink the other half.  Few hours later drink the second half.  But make sure to eat food also, whatever stage you are in right now.  If you can eat chicken, soft boil it to death.  Make sure you keep adding water and it will get really soft.  When you area allowed to eat softer foods like that, mix it into a chicken salad and eat some of that.  Or you can do the same with tuna.  Scrambled eggs will probably help you right now for your protein also.   Secondly, your body is trying to figure out what the HE... ....  you did to it.  It's in shock and trying to figure out it's new routing.  It's trying to heal.  It's telling you 'I'm mad and I don't want to do what you want me to do'...in so many words.  Be patient.  Almost everyone goes through a stall within the first month or so.  But that doesn't mean that you are still losing.  Have you taken measurements and checked your inches?  Do your clothes feel looser?  For me, I loose pounds, but not inches.  Then the pounds stay put and it seems the inches go down.  They take turns (gee, how generous of my body huh?).   Also make sure to take your water and walk, walk, walk.

Thanks to all that have replied, I wil try more protein and also increasing my ounces. The dietician said I should be at 4 ounces.  Its hard to find a protien that is good. Today I tried some junk in a tube 25 gr for 2.9 ounces, it was sickining. It was like drinking syrup YUCK. But thanks to all God Bless

Hi Margaret,   I just sent you a personal message cause we are almost neighbors. I live in Monroe. I buy my powdered protein @ Walmarts for about $12.   Make my own shakes & they are great. Give you lots of energy & you can be VERY CREATIVE by what you put in them...Water hasn't tasted good to me since my surgery. So I use Crystal lite for those 64 oz a day. Easier for me to get the fluids in.                    Good luck to you....Pam-busdriver
