do you have bcbs of Mi?

I have BCBS Comm Blue PPO, my WLS surgeon's office called them to verify that I was approved and it was done in a day. I did have 12 months (plus) of documented weight loss trials and failures and also the psych consult and other pre requisites but the WLS office did all the authorizing. Perhaps the office for the WLS you are seeing could contact BCBS and speak to them directly? Hope this helps

I also have BCBS Community Blue PPO and did not need a pre-approval.  I did, however, have to meet their criteria - 12 months of a physician-supervised, documented weight loss program.  I know it was paid promptly, within a few weeks, of my surgery.  Good luck! karen
