Support groups in Detroit?

Hi all.  I'm from Wisconsin, but usually on the Minnesota board as my surgery was performed in Minneapolis.   I'm staying here in Detroit through June 28th, for work, and wondering if there are any support group meetings here in Detroit (downtown preferably) that I could attend while here? I'm staying at the Hilton Garden Inn here in downtown Detroit but did drive so if I need to drive a ways to get to a meeting I am willing to do that.  With this new job that I'm here in Detroit on training I've had to miss my support group meetings in Minneapolis since December and I really really miss going! Not to steal the thread or anything, but on the same topic, if anyone knows of a group in Macomb, i'd be very grateful for the info... there's a group listed here on obesityhelp.com but i messaged the person who's profile is listed as a contact and never heard back and i'd like to have something lined up for right after surgery...

There is a support group that meets at Mount Clemens General on the second Thursday of each month - second floor and i think it's room 210....and there is a meeting tomorrow (14th).  I may be there, depending on what is happening with my college class.  It starts at 6:30pm

Hi, I have attended the meetings @ Harper Hospital since my LapBand surgery 4/23. They are usually held once a month & already took place June 7th. There is a casual, bring your own lunch meeting at St Mary Mercy Hospital in Livonia on Monday, June 18.  An easy drive on I-96 to Levan Road and north less than a mile.  There is a cafeteria in the hospital so you can get lunch there and then bring it up to Classroom 10 on the fourth floor of the Marian Building, the office building on the south side of the hospital.  Noon until one, and we sometimes get chatty and hang out afterward. The formal, much bigger meeting is on Wednesday, June 27, in the hospital auditorium, on the lower level on the north end of the building, roughly under the gift shop.  That one is from 7 -9 and the topic is transfer addiction.  We will meet the new program psychologist. Michigan Bariatric Institute is kind enough to open these meetings to all post ops.  No charge. Nice folks.

I just found out that Barix (which is where i'll have my surgery) has a support group that meets monthly in Warren, on the 4th Saturday of every month, so I'll be checking that out in a couple of weeks... I'm determined to find a group i like with the hopes of it helping me stay on track...

Dr. Pleatman has a support group, they meet once a month not sure when though.  You can check his website for more info.  I'm sure if you call the office they will give you the info.
