Second Opinion Appointment...MMPC
THanks Amy...I see you are a self pay. I dont want to be. I just hope my insurance cooperates. As for the questions, I have plenty! I have been doing research for a while now, and I am still want the lap-band. I do not want the RNY simply because it is forever, and I know 5 people that have had it, have started to gain back the weight. I feel with the lap band, you can always go and get adjusted. This is what I feel now. I hope I still feel this way after the seminar...
Thanks for all your advise and experience.
Thanks...
Jodi,
I hope everything goes well at the seminar tomorrow! I have the same feelings as you do about the surgery. I've researched the Lap-Band and have even read Lap-Band for Life by Dr. Ortiz (from Mexico). I've had initial consults at U of M. They haven't done the procedure yet. I kind of felt that the PA was trying to get me to go with RNY and I said I was open to it, but the more I think about it and the more I pray about it, I just feel like you do about the Lap-Band. I LOVE the fact that it's adjustable and 3 years down the road if I need a little extra restriction, they can give it to me. Have you heard about the new AP (Advanced Platform) bands?
Kathy
Thanks Kathy!! I hope everything goes well also. This is what I fear, they are going to push the RNY. I would love to have that, yes I am being selfish, you loose the weight very quick and I need help now. But then you have all this extra skin, and with the lap band you at least get time to work on it. I dont want somthing so perminate, so that is why I am leading towards the Lap band. Uggh what is a fat girl to do. I have only heard of the AP band on the board here. I only went to one Dr and he was NOT very informative at all. That is why I chose to drop him and go through MMPC, hoping they are full of more Information. Thanks again for the 'hopes'.... I will update. Thanks Jodi...
