1. how many carbs can you consume in one day? Barix supplies you with a nutritionist, and she'll go over what she'll need for her, with her. Most of these questions are answered by her. She can call her and she'll be able to help her. Barix also will give her a Barix "Bible" (binder) with all this info in it as well, as tons of suggestions and recipes.  I didn't get any numbers for carbs, just stay away form, white foods; bread, rice, potato, etc. 2. how many meals do you eat a day, and how often? 6 mini meals a day, every 3 hours or so, keeps the metabolism going. 3. how many grams of protein are you doing per day? For me, 68 grams, minimum. Fat; 27 - 45 grams a day ( 11 grams maximum per meal) Sugar; 2 grams or less of ADDED sugar. 4. do you watch and monitor sodium? Nope, wasn't told to, but if she's following the program, she should be fine 5. what did he tell you about soda pop? Absolutely NOT! 6. how many post op visits do you have with him for follow up? For me, 2 weeks, 6 weeks, 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, and once a year there after.

She does have the Barix book, and as far as I know she has talked to her NUT a time or two but that's it. The point is I am aware she can get the info she needs but I just felt like it is so different than what I was told I was concerned. I can't help but wonder if something is wrong and she MAY NOT KNOW it.  That's why I'm asking you all for your answers and help.  She may not know differently! Thanks for the replies so far!

Though I can't help you at all Stacey, I just wanted to say what a good friend to find out about her program before bringing up something that may or may not be wrong! And even just being concerned enough to care is huge!!!!

Just want to thank everyone *****plied to my questions.  I spoke to my friend last night and pretty much everything here that you all said is right on. I really wanted to educate myself with another surgeon's 'guidelines' first and be supportive and knowing that all programs differ, I can rest assured after talking to my friend that they are doing things right.  I am only interested in being a good friend and supportive and was looking to gain information and be able to do that if I saw a need. Thanks again for your information!
