Ok guys,     Here I go with another really dumb ?! I have been faithful doing nothing differently; and today I was up a couple of pounds! I am so mad I could spit nails. I am exercising my butt off literally; and eating very healthy and good. I am not getting all my water still; and I was wondering if I could be holding more water due to this heat and humidity? I am also a very slow loser! But I get concerned when I see that scale going in the wrong direction! I am even adding new exercise to my routine (swimming), and walking outdoors! Clearly I want to see more progress than I have! Here are some of my reasoning like thinking: is it because I am not drinking enough (if so how can I do more), I am not sleeping well at all lately, my stress levels have recently increased; and I get stuck on my plateau's often.. My last lab test in May came back very well; no deficencies! I am 4 months post op; and if anyone can tell me what is going on with my body I would appreciate the words of experiance or wisdom.. Why do some of us have more difficulty than others losing? It kills me when I seen others progress so quickly; and I think my body is once again betraying me.. PUZZLED! Thanks, Judy R

Judy my weight can change as much as 5# overnight. My guess is water weight. Most say only weigh once a week, but I weigh every day.I am 20 mos. out & have been like this since the begining. I am also considered a slow loser. Be patient & keep doing what you are doing. Nan

When you're not drinking enough water your body holds on to what you have....that's one reason. You have to drink more, especially in the summer when we dehydrate sooooooooo easily.    That time of the month can also make you gain.   Losing slow is a good thing, you're not losing muscle and you're losing it in a more healthy way. Do you drink just plain water?   how about sf kool aid or crystal light.    Have you tried the crystal light hyration?   It has electrolytes in it, kinda like gatorade and comes in berry and lemonade....i like it slushy.  walmart has a generic brand of the on the go packs in cherry lime which i love, they have tons of flavors including teas. Tropicana has a great sf lemonade.    Or i also do this.....squeeze one lime into a glass, add about two packs of splenda a dash of salt.   fill your glass with crushed ice and water and mix.....very refreshing.   Stress could also be causing it, but if you're not getting in enough water i think that's why....keep trying to up it and see how that works....force yourself Linda

You sound like you are on the right track. I am sure you have also heard that fat turns into muscle after a while. And muscle weighs more than fat...I know I have and I am hoping that is why I haven't lost a lb since middle of May. I also don't always get my water all in. And I am working on that. I hope everything works out for us...The lbs will melt away and we didn't gain it overnite and can't expect it to leave that soon....   Keep up the good work...                                                                                         Pam-busdriver

I'm glad that someone else has the same problem!!  I know if I don't drink enough water and/or eat chinese food with MSG I can gain big time.  I have weighed myself almost every day since I was a teen. Also, you may also be losing fat but gaining muscle!  A square inch of muscle will weigh more than a square in of fat.  A pound of fat will take up more space than a pound of muscle.
