How the heck does a grown adult make friends? i've been in michigan over a year and all i know are the people Melanie knows. I don't want to be friends with the people where i sometimes work, i'm not going to school... so how do you meet people? i'm at a loss.

I even looked at joining the jaycees and i'm TOO FREAKING OLD! I had no idea you couldn't be over 40 to join the jaycees.

and i'm not religious so please don't tell me to go to church.

Probably no one here needs friends so you don't have the answers either but if anyone has any ideas, it would be apreciated.

When you figure out please let me know.   Honestly, I have met a few people via me singing around town.    How about you join a bowling league or a golf league?  It's a thought.   Like I said, there are always a ton of people by themselves when I am singing at places so I am biased.     I love my music what can I say.

You're not alone .   I lost all my friends due to my change in attitude and not taking their crap anymore after wls.   They were jealous and they suck!    Basically i have the friends i've met here at oh and my hubbys friends.    I have ppl i "talk to "  at work, but none i would invite over or even call.   So i'm at a loss too, hope you figure something out and let me know. now is a good time to meet people working on political campaigns if that is of interest to you.  Volunteering with different organizations can sometimes bring you together with other people who have similar interests.........it isnt easy like it was when we were young and friends just appeared and stayed......it is a challenge.....but thats why now when we find good friends, they are worth hanging on to!  hug  good luck, rae

have you seen Blue State yet? lol. I'd LOVE to get involved in a political campaign, unfortunately there's no one right now that i can feel right about backing. And i'd probably wind up like in Blue State.

Jay, you might try the Rotary Club or the Lions Club.  They are service organizations like the Jaycees but don't care how old you are.
