Is this normal?

Hi, I am new here.  Had my RNY on 4/30/07, so tomorrow will be 7 weeks.  I had to go back in 3.5 weeks later for "stenois".  Since surgery, I am only able to have 2 or 3 protein drinks per day plus water, about 32 oz.  If I try to eat any food, I throw it up.  I have thrown up each day now for over 2 weeks; and when I say any food, it is a minute size.  Yesterday I was finally able to keep oatmeal down.  Will this end soon?

I think you need to call your surgeon in the am- you may need to be dilated... Shannon

Call the number you were given for Dr. Zeni today, or call Paula tomorrow morning!  I know Angie is usually in the office about 8:00 am.  Sounds like you are a quick healer, you may have another stenosis in your life.  Call the office, though, the will help! And, there is a support lunch there tomorrow, Monday from noon till one in the classroom on the fourth floor.  Very casual, bring a protein drink and chat with us.  By the way, open to the public, the more the more interesting!  Usually there are fewer than a dozen of us, lots of room for more.

Thanks for your replies!  I will call Paula in the am.  I wasnt sure if this was normal.  When I had my last visit, he said it should subside so I didnt know how long that would take.  I would feel awful if I had to have another scope.  Does that happen very often?  I have done everything the way they have taught us.  I wanted to go to the lunch tomorrow but I have an appt at my internist at 1 pm.  Maybe I can just go for 30 minutes.

Hey Barb. How are you? I got the Job, along with a $2.30 raise and haven't even started yet lol. I go to orientation on Tuesday. I won't be at the meeting tomorrow 'cause I have to go to the dentist and have a few teeth pulled ~ouchie. Can you get my trays from Angie, or Paula, or whoever please? Thank you. Call your doctor....sounds like strictures.  I had to be dilated 5 times over 2 months, so yes, it can happen.    Keep us posted. Tracey

Do what the others said and get scoped. You may have to do it a few times but don't battle with it. Git r done. kp

I asked Paula if anyone meeting your description had called in.  She said yes, and that she was sorry you waited so long.  Without knowing exactly who we were talking about, the support group attendees were sorry you were such a good healer and glad that it would be an easy fix.  So, we talked about you but we only said good things. Introduce yourself at the June 27 evening meeting, would you?

I sure will...I have my scope at noon tomorrow (Tuesday)....I was wondering if it was in my head, if I wasnt doing something right, etc.  I was at the last meeting and my husband was with me.  He is the one that added Paula's name several times to the recipe contest...My name is Cheryl and I will see you soon...Will update everyone after I get home tomorrow...
