I just wanted to thank everyone for the support, thoughts and prayers. My cousin is doing much better. There is still much that needs to be done for him but he is in the clear and improving everyday. After I posted about my cousin being attacked I was informed by some family that there had been a threat called into the hospital and I immediately asked to have my post removed because even though it wasn't likely I didn't want my post to give out any info that may cause him more harm. They did catch the guy that did it, his sister turned him in. Turns out he was out on bail. They think it was his brother that called in the threat(not sure what that accomplished) and was also hiding him. He was injured in the roll over accident when he was getting away and the police said he seemed somewhat relieved when he was finally caught because he was in pain and wanted treatment. Another thing that happened was my 8 year old son ran his bike into the neighbors mailbox and had to be taken to the ER by ambulance. Who knew that a mailbox could cause so much damage. I am just glad it didn't turn out as bad as it looked at first. There was blood everywhere. He fractured his nose and that was bleeding. He had a gash right under his eye and another on his scalp. I was most freaked out by his eye because it was swollen shut and there was so much blood I couldn't tell whether it was still intact or not. My other kids have been injured on the head before and I know that heads bleed so much more than other parts but I have never personally seen so muchblood come from one person. He was stapled, stitched, glued and set (staples and stitches were taken out today) but is now doing well and is just dying to get back out on his bike. I am making him wait a bit longer but I am glad he is not afraid. Hopefully he will watch where he is going from now on. Thanks Again,

Glad to hear your cousin is doing better. I was just thinking about you the other night so I am glad you could post the update.

It hard when you little ones get hurt but they handle it so much better than we grownups. Hopefully he will be safer when he gets back on his bike. At least he's willing to get back on it.

Thanks for keeping us posted with your cousin. Glad your son is not affaird to get back on the bike again.  I remember when my son cut above his eye and all the blood what a scary time for sure. I didnt know that the area bleed like that. Wishing you a wonderful day.

Wow, I hope that little black cloud has moved away from you.  It is a relief that they caught the guy and I hope he gets lots of jail time.  I'm glad your son is ok, I bet that scared him to death.

I am so glad they caught the guy, and i hope your cousin recovers quickly.   Maybe you should think about getting your son a helmet .    I know it's hard to get them to wear it, but boys are rough and at his age i think it would benefit him.    Glad to hear he's okay. Linda

He actually had one on. Most of the damage was directly to his face and the helmet didn't help. The one place that it might have helped was his injury to the scalp near his forehead but I think it must have been loose and slid back otherwise it should have prevented that. When I send them off with the helmets on I check and make sure they are snug and even though I haven't actually caught them I think they must loosen the straps when I'm not looking.

Holly, Thanks for giving us an update!  I've been wondering how your cousin was doing.  Glad to hear he is doing better!  Sorry to hear about your son...boys!  I'm just now learning about that.  My little guy is 13 months, but already getting bump, scrapes, bruises, and we've had 2 bleeding injuries to his face now.  Glad your son's doing ok and willing to ride his bike again.
