Dumping

Yesterday morning I dumped my breakfast on the way to work and after that I had the dry heaves up until about 4:00pm.  My question is has this happen  to anyone else or did I maybe have a touch of the flu or something?  I did wake up one night extremely hungry and had the dry heaves then.  My stomach still feels a little queasy today.   Any thoughts on this?

I still dump if I get something with a little too much fat or sugar (over 7 grams).  I'm glad that I do because it keeps me honest.  You might have eaten a little too quickly and it just didn't settle or maybe your pouch was just being difficult.  I hope you're feeling better.

I am over three years out and I still dump on occasion when eating food.  Yes after I am done I feel sick and have to lay down.  I guess I am happy that I still dump because it keeps me in check with my eating and I know that my tool still works.  Hugs Tricia

I'm just over 6 years post-op and it still happens to me on occasion.   I always have to go back to the basics for a few days after it happens.  For me, dry cheerios and plain tuna settles my stomach back to normal.

I guess I should have mentioned that it's the dry heaves that I get, not the dumping.  I never have dumping due to the fact that I am not a lap band patient.

Hi, and thanks I will try some cheerios.  I am not a lap band either.  I have dumped for no reason also I've dumped because I ate to fast or not chewed enough. Dumping is bad enough but the dry heaves is terrible!

Thanks Ann, yes I am feeling better today.  I had a slice of bacon yesterday and I think that's what made me sick.  However, the dry heaves was worse than the dumping. Thanks for your input.

Hi Tricia,  Thanks for the info,  It's funny because one day your fine with something and the next day you dump it.   On occasion that I have dumped, I was able to go about my business but yesterday left me with the dry heaves.  I was in bed most of the day. Hugs back to ya..........Kathy
