what IS it with chicken? when i was three months out i could eat chicken with no problem. it was almost 9 mos before i could eat beef. NOW i'm almost 2 years out and i can eat beef with no difficulty but i'm spending YET ANOTHER night heaving up the chicken i ate. That's four out of the last five times i've had chicken. I don't get it. what am i doing wrong? why is this happening? i'm sick of puking!!!

kp- i know you're gonna shake your head and laugh and just say "don't eat chicken ya dummy!" but WHY? why can't i eat chicken anymore? what the heck is that about? It's just chicken!!!!

hi Jay--i still have trouble with chicken now and then.....i think depending on how it is cooked it just gets stuck.......i have to make sure that it is really moist.....and i have found that i tolerate it better if it has a little crust on it..........helps it not to get stuck in the pouch and move through a little better.  i can also have the same prob with certain kinds of pork--like a pork chop..........i think the muscle strands of the "white" meats dry out in a different way than beef.....and they adhere to the pouch sides much more.  seems cray but it has happened enough times that i dont think it is just an accident! now--Dont' eat chicken ya dummy!!!!!!!!!!  grin..........teasing.........hug rae

I actually do worse when it's moist. I think it falls apart and goes down my gullet before i can chew it up small enough. I think. I really don't know. i feel horrible from all the throwing up last night. ugh.

I am over three years out and still cannot eat chicken or turkey breast.  I tried it again about a month ago and I prayed to be able to get rid of it.  When it finally came up I told my mom if you ever see me try to eat it again will you just slap me please.  Ever since I had surgery this is the only thing that will make me sick.  I keep thinking that I would get over it but after the last time I will not try it again.  It's funny because dark meat doesn't make me sick at all.  Take care, Fran

Nothing worse than gamey meat...ick.  Fish does this to me.  I was never a big fish eater before surgery.  I liked only the mild fish, like Cod (and beer battered, of course!)....nothing that tastes fishy.  But after surgery, I can't tolerate any fish!  Gags me!
