stomache ache and diarehia
Hey everyone i need a little bit of help. See with the last couple of days i have noticed that i always have diarehia. Everything i drink goes right through me. I am on the Full Liquids diet right now and that all i can have and well everything goes right through me. Also i keep getting stomach aches and i don't know why and its not from the incision sites so i don't know what to do. Is this normal or am i doing something wrong please let me know thanks.
Krista
I was like that the first two weeks post op. You are only taking in liquids, so it seems to reason. They told me I could take liquid immodium, but it didn't seem to help and tasted awful. Things have slowed themselves down, and I am back to my normal schedule.
As far as the stomach aches, not sure how to help there. I had pains, but they took me off my birth control mid pack, which forced a cycle, so I had cramping, aches and tenderness from that. It was hard to tell the difference for a couple of days.
If it still bothers you call your doctors office.
Hope this helps
Pam
We write our own destiny. We become what we do.
I think your bouts of diarrhea are normal at this stage. I know it's literally a pain in the rear, but it will get better once you go on soft and regular foods. You could try adding a dose of Benefiber to your drinks once a day. We need fiber to bind solids in our intestine. It worked for me. Once I got on normal foods, I got into some problems with being constipated, so it's one extreme or the other with us! It all works itself out in the end...(no pun intended). Keep in mind that your stomach and intestines are still healing and are probably irritated from the surgery itself, and also, if all that is going in is liquids, that's all that will be coming out. Try the fiber. It'll help bind any solids/proteins you consume in liquid form.
Let us know how you are doing. Good luck.
