Last week I went and consulted with Dr. Leppink in Grand Rapids on a facelift and tummy tuck.  He won't do the tummy tuck for 4 - 6 months but will do the facelift whenever I say.  He came highly recommended by my bariatric surgeon and from other people who have had him.  I decided though to get a second consult with Dr. Francine Vagotis in Grand Rapids.  I see her tomorrow.  Larry and I will then decide who will do the facelift.  I have all the questions handy to ask tomorrow because Dr. Leppink covered everything I could think of right off the bat.  I'll let you knw what happens tomorrow.

I decided to go with Dr. Leppink for my facelift.  Dr. Vagotis is very good and she specializes in facelifts.  Either one would be very good for what I need done BUT Dr. Vagotis is $10,056 vs. 7,390 for Dr. Leppink.  I would have to stay overnight in the off campus surgery center with Dr. Vagotis and can go home with Dr. Leppink.  My husband and I talked extensively after the Vagotis appointment and we finally decided that since they were both doing basically the same procedure, the pictures before and after looked pretty much alike, that we would go with Dr. Leppink.  I had heard first hand what nice work he did and how caring he was.  My own bariatric surgeon recommended him so I don't think the $3,000 difference in price will get me much more. I am also considering a job/state change an the extra $3,000 would go a long way to paying off my car if I decide to do this.   I am scheduled for July 25th at 6:30 a.m.  I just have to get the pre-op testing done and an EKG done in the meantime.  This is just 3 days after the WLS picnic in Big Rapids so we'll be doing some celebrating.  I can't wait to see the "new" me.

That's good that you feel comfortable with the doc.     I myself have been looking into the lifestyle lift, it seems right for me but i'm not sure if i want it or not.   Good luck Linda

Linda, I've had this big waddle ever since I started to lose the weight and it really has bothered me.  I also think it makes me look 10 years older.  I would do the tummy tuck first but this bothers me more than the tummy because it can be covered up.  I'll do that later this year though.
