Two weeks out

Today mark two weeks from surgery. I'm doing well had a few set backs but I lost 26 lbs. The hard part is getting in the shakes but I'm pushing morning, afternoon ,and nite. I will have my 1st post op Dr appointment on the 10 of July. My wife and I will head to our son house in Md on the 12 for two weeks hoping to play a little golf??? if the Dr ok's it. My set back is I'm still on 25 unit of insult daily. But I'm sure it will decrease as I loss weight.

Sounds to me like you're doing a great job.   Keep pushing to get that protein in, you'll get it figured out.   Don't forget your water too. Linda

Congratulations on the loss.  It took me 4 months to finally get off the last of the diabetic meds but they were cut drastically about 3 weeks out.  Keep up the good work.

I am almost 5 months out and off insulin completely. I was taking 120 units a day...yes 120 units!!! At about 1 month if dropped drastically...but didn't completely go off insulin until about 3 months out I think.....then went on Metformin..but was making me sick. Tried going with nothing but my sugars were starting to creep back up. I started on Amaryl 1 month ago...and sugars are about 140 -150 so we added a half pill....but still only 3 mg of this meds. So much better than all that insulin.
