Hi all,  I had my 6 week check up yesterday and found out a few things  I been drinking my protien shake every morning , well I was told not to have any protien drinks untill bedtime ..and try and eat normal protien first of course ..and only eat 3 meals plus snack before bed and if I dont get the protien in I can have a shake then . she said the shake dont keep you full long enough ? but what ever I been doing she said is really good ..I have lost 40 pounds !!starting weight 317down to 277 so am really happy about that ..so today I start tring to get the protiens in without the shakes ..its going to be hard for me ..cause I cant eat eggs yet .. so not sure what to try and eat . hugs to all Sherry

Try this.   I use 1/4 - 1/2 c ricotta cheese, topped with Marinara sauce and then a couple tbsp of Parmasean cheese.  Cover, and microwave for 1 to 1.5 minutes.  It takes like cheese manicotti.  No noodles in it, but it has been very satisfying to me on my puree stage.  I can see continuing to eat this through my weight loss journey.

Best of luck

Pam

Do you mean that you can not tolerate eggs?...Before the surgery could you eat eggs? Have you been approved to eat tuna or peanut butter?

She also tells you not to do soup anymore because of the "funnel" factor but if you add some no/low fat saltines to it all broken up, it will last just as long as a meal.  You can also put some unflavored whey powder in it and get more protein. I also made tuna salad with Miracle Whip free and it tasted very good and was full of protein.  Also, you can probably do Special K cereal with fat free milk, just add some protein powder and you'll have at least 25 grams at one meal. There's all kinds of little tricks and don't forget now that you're at 6 weeks, you can do protein bars again.

Hi Ann ,I was surprised about the shakes but today I have done good so far  am trying to get 15 protiens at each meal..I was a little worried I wouldnt get my protien in with out them so now am trying to plan meals with at least that much . I would rather not put the protien in food that just isnt for me .. hugs sherry
