I am happy to announce that.....
I am down 8+lbs.....count them 8+lbs. Yeah...... Me!
I knew that I wasn't nuts and I knew that I was eating right, probably more then necessary but, I still stuck to a proper diet, drank my water, exercised, I am not saying I was perfect 100% of the time, but I would say 98% of the time.
I do know that I didn't eat enough to gain the weight I was gaining. I was eating 1500 or so calories a day or less.
Well, by MUCH trial and error and blaming a lot of things on my weightgain, I FINALLY nailed it on the head.
I for many year I was on anti-depressants, Well last August after ending up in the hospital a couple of time for a mysterious abdominal pain that we never did figure out, I became more anxious and depressed so my PCP upped my Zoloft to 200mg. A pretty high dose. Within the first month after my hospitalization, I gained 20 lbs, with no explanation, which didn't help the depression at all!!! The harder I fought the more it seemed I was gaining. It scared me to death. I didn't know what else to do or where to turn, so I began to do much research.
I have found I am not alone in this problem. There are 1000's upon 1000's of people suffering the same problem. The almighty drug companies claim they will not cause weight gain but that is a big FAT lie. If they admitted it would cause weight gain, they couldn't peddle there products.
Well a couple of months ago I went to my PCP and told him I believed that my weight gain was caused by my med and he didn't dispute it. I explained I was going to start using a natural supplement and I gave him all of the data on it and he gave me his blessings so to speak. It took me two very long and difficult months to wean off of my med, my poor family paid the wrath of that...lol. I have been completely off my med and solely on the supplements for 2wks now and I feel wonderful.
I don't know if everyone would have a problem like this, but if you are gaining or craving food when you know you aren't hungary, and you are on an anti-depressant, it is something to look into. A few weeks ago in the Bay City Times, Lifestyles and health section, They had a front page article on this very subject! I felt so vindicated! Thank you Bay City Times.....LOL
I am feeling so much better about myself again. I was really feeling like a failure, I was at a loss. EVERYONE was SURE it was something I was doing wrong! Well I am happy to report the scale is going back in the right direction.

Hey Toni, Way to go!!!!! I am on an anti-depressant too and I am SURE they make you gain weight. Kinda defeats the purpose if one of the reasons you are depressed is because of your weight!!!! You've made me think about what I should do.................. You must feel a whole lot better just knowing what the problem was - now you know how to deal with it. Take Care and see you soon, Cindy :)
Toni:
I'm so happy for you! You deserve every pound you lose --- you've been through so much with this stupid mysterious weight gain and I'm glad you finally figured out what the problem was.
I got ahold of that article in the Bay City Times - great read with lots of great information.
Keep up the good work girl!
