morning coffee

good morning everyone , happy 4th of july to all of you !! I slept in today ...I usually am off to the big parade in town this is the first year I have not been there in a long time ..the kids are all doing other things today ..so I really dont have anything planed !!feels kind of strange ..who no maybe somthing will come up latter . I got up had my coffee then had my weight control oatmeal for breckfast ..now am going for my mile walk then am going to play around in my garden . so what are the rest of you doing today in michigan ?? Mornin' Chicadee!! Happy and safe one back at ya!  I slept in late too...SWEET! Gosh I haven't been to the 4th's parade in ages...I just may change my habit although I think it’s mainly for the ‘lil ones.  Don't know about the weather where you are but it’s a bit of a gloomy day here.  (Had a good rain last night and it looks threatening today ~ ha, a down pour would be just my luck if I do go to the parade!!)  LOL! Have a grand 4^th all!  *waves flag*

I love the 4 th of the July parade in Alpena. We try to make it sometimes, but usually make it to the Thanksgiving day parade. Always sit in front of the fire station on Chisolm Street. My brother is fireman/paramedic for the city. Today he was driving the fire truck and his 3 year old daughter, 2 year old son and his wife got to ride along. Wished I could have been there to see that. I will be heading to Alpena in 2 weeks for 4 days. Can't wait we are having a family reunion. Lynn

I am hanging around the house and the inlaws are coming over later for a BBQ. I am making steaks and portabella mushrooms... hmm yummy!!!

Hey Sherry Just hanging around the house today.  Bought a new Bar-B-Q last week and put it together all by myself (Pat on my back!).  Went and bought a rib steak this morning and marinaded it in soy sauce with garlic and some fresh zucchini, red peppers, purple onions merinated them in ff italian dressing and a baked potato.  It's been a VERY long time since I've BBQ and guess what,  Yep I burned everything except the steak.  But it tasted great.  Next time I do fresh veggies I'll have to sit right there and watch it.  One of my bad traits!
