Accountability

Hi Everyone,   I really haven't posted out here much - I was lap-banded close to two months ago.  All has been going well, I'm down 38 pounds, but definitely slowing down in the weight loss category recently.  I came back out to the board for inspiration and spent quite a bit of time today reading Kevin Phillip's entire blog.  Wow - was that encouraging.  I got to see his 2+ year journey, and it really showed me the need for my own accountability as I move down this path.  Kevin points out how this isn't a "magic bullet" and I'm thinking man, I know that, but I'm not living like that.  Recently I find myself eating things I know aren't the best choice, etc. - it's amazing how fast those bad habits creep in!!! Today I will begin exercising - Today I will think before I eat - Today I will begin to drink more water. I guess I had to post this so you can each hold me accountable!!!  I want this to WORK and I know I'm the one who has the ability to either make that happen or fail for lack of trying!!

Congratulations on the 38 lb. loss.  Keep up the good work and keep coming back to let us know your progress.  Sometimes we do slip but it's really good that we can find something that reminds us to get back on the program.  I'm lucky that I dump so that helps to keep me honest but I still come here to get inspired.  I love reading profiles.

Sounds like you're back on the right track and getting back to the basics!  I have no doubt you will better respect the TOOL you have been given and reach your goals in no time.

I think we all have to keep one very important fact in mind...no matter what kind of WLS "tool" we have chosen (or are choosing), stomachs are only muscle and easily stretched.  Of course the more we force it to stretch the more one is able to eat...and we all know where over eating leads!  "Back to basics" is thee wisest choice. Best wishes on your success in getting back to those basics.  OH'ers will help keep you accountable, just keep us posted!
