Undecided on what Dr....

Hello Fellow Michiganders...I have to call MMPC on Monday to set up my first Surgical Appt.  I am really undecided what surgeon to choose.  Dr Baker, Dr Foote, or Dr Kemmeter.  I am inquring the Lap Band...and I think that Dr Baker is known for the lap band.  But Dr Foote looks nice too..LOL...Dr K did not strike my fancy when I was at the seminar he did, maybe he would be different one on one... I need your help on who I should choose.  Please help... Thanks Jodi

Hi Jodi, Choosing the right surgeon for YOU is what's important. We can all advise you, but inevitably, you have to live with your decision. Base it on the surgeon's experience, overall manner, certifications and specialties, their bedside manners, overall success rates, clinical experience, speak with some of their patients, and don't rush in making your decision. It isn't easy to choose your surgeon.  I basically had limited choice in the matter because of my location, I had one surgeon and the choice was made for me.    Take time to ask questions, and if you are uncomfortable with the first one you meet, then change.  You need to select the one who will best suit YOUR needs and wishes and that doesn't always come easy. Thanks Stacy..This is why I choose to start this thred so I can get some responces on what people think of the MMPC Dr's.  Hoping they will tell all and the good with the bad...Thanks again...

Jodi, I had Dr. Foote.  I chose him over Dr. Kemmeter because I thought he had more experience.  I was so happy to have him.  He is a very caring doctor and will make sure you understand all the ins and outs.  He s also a trained ER doctor so he can handle any problems that might arise.  I know that he did Judy's surgery and it was very involved.  I don't think you could go wrong with him.

Oh ANn I appreciate you replying back to me.  I think deep down and subconciencely I want him.  I was leaning towards Baker.. but I think I want Dr Foote.  I CANNOT pin point why I like him.  Never seen him, met him, even put my eyes on him, just in a pic.. and I think he is the one for some reason.  Now that I know he is a trained ER doc, that even puts more ease to my mind..  Thanks again Ann.. HI JODI....I LOVED DR FOOTE...HE DID A VERY GOOD SURGERY ON ME AND HAS A WONDERFUL RECORD FOR SUCESS AND ALSO HAS A WONDERFUL BEDSIDE MANOR!!!! I THANK GOD THAT HE WAS MY SURGEON....HE SAVED MY LIFE AND WAS IN NO HURRY TO SEND ME HOME AFTER SURGERY!!!! HE CARED THAT I WAS TAKEN CARE OF UNTIL I FELT WELL ENOUGH TO GO HOME. I HAD ALOT OF SCAR TISSUE FROM HERNIA SURGERY A FEW YEARS AGO AND ALSO OTHER PROBLEMS I DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT. IN MY BOOK HE IS THE BEST OF THE BEST!!!!! HE IS ALSO A RELIGIOUS MAN AND WILL ALSO SAY A PRAYER WITH YOU AND FAMILY.

i felt like that the first time i met dr foote....but i met with him one on one and knew he was the best for me.

Hi, I absolutely love Dr. Foote. I met Kemmeter at my orientation and Dr. Baker did a scope on me before surgery. I still like Dr. Foote the best. He made me feel at such ease. He will joke around, etc. Tell stories and just plain makes you feel comfortable. He is awesome. Lynn
