Lets look at it from a more logical stand ???? (Hope thats not to harsh) look at and ask !!  how many lap band has each doctor completed and what is each of there complication rates ? Then pick your Doctor base's on out comes and who has the best talent in the operating room when you are asleep.

I have been looking at all there stats.  I was also informed that Dr Foote is a trained ER doc, and I think that makes him stand out more. (I think that is talent...)  I am asking.. hence the question I posted.  Dr Kemmeter has done the most lap-bands, but that does not matter to me if you do not like his bedside mannor.  I want a Dr I am comfortable with.. and I dont think he is the one.  Yes I am going by first impression, isnt that the american way???  I guess what ever Dr I choose if I am not comfie with them, I will go to the next.   Thanks Jodi :O)

I chose Dr. Kemmeter after attending his orientation.  I felt he was sincere and very caring.  After meeting him face to face I was convinced he was the right choice for me.  I don't have my surgery date yet, but hoping it will be soon.  My daughter-in-law had Dr. Baker and she was very well pleased with him.   All three of the Docs at MMPC are good at what they do and care about their patients.   Hope this helps. I guess it is the american way for each person to chose there own path on how to pick  their surgeon. Many people do it a much less careless maonor then you are, and over all MMPC does have a great program with well respected Doctors. You do fine no matter who you pick. How are you doing with your approval. I just talked to another persont his week that tryed for 2 years with PH went thought 3 appeals and then gave up, and paid cash, have you started applying for approval yet or does MMPC do that for you ? Maybe start a new thread people with PH getting approved ?

I do have PH.. and I have heard good and bad.  I have only been approved to meet the dr's.  I am still in the begining and I first need to meet the Dr to see what my next step is.  I went to the INS sight on here from MMPC drs' site and some did good with PH and some did not.  It all depends on the individual.  I have already made up  my mind.  If I get denied I will appeal twice, and If I still get denied, I will be a self pay.  I have already talked it over with my parents and they will fork over the money.  I cannot wait any longer.  I am going down hill daily and I need this.  I will do anything for it.  My mobiliy is getting less and less each day and I'm only 29!!!!  I have to do something now!! Thanks again. Jodi :O)

I think we all end up thinking our surgeon is the best because they have helped us on our journey. I met Dr. Kemmeter at the seminar and wasn't really sure about him.  Then, we met him one on  one and I loved him.  He has a great personality while still giving you all the facts about surgery.  If you check on the 3 doctors' surgery records, I believe Dr. Kemmeter has done more Lap Band surgeries.  Dr. Baker Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket Dr. Foote Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket Dr. Kemmeter Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket Hope this helps. Hi Jodi,

Dr. Foote did my sugery & he was great.  I never even actually met or saw any of the other surgeons.  Dr. Foote did the orientation I attended too.  I looked up his info & what other people had to saw about him on this website.  He is very nice & very professional.  I went into the orientation wanting the lap-band, then, after I came out I was not sure becuase I want to lose more than 100 pounds.  When I met with Dr. Foote he was great, I told him my pros & cons of each surgery and asked him what he thought.  He let me know that I could certainly lose the weight I wanted with the lap band.  He said that we would just need to keep tightening it.  His mom even works in his office periodically.  She is a nurse & I met her 2 weeks post op, very nice lady.  I happened to notice her last name was Foote hyphen something and I asked her if she was related.  It was too funny.  Anyway, I think that no matter who you choose at MMPC, I think you made a good choice going there.  I am happen I chose it because they are all very well known for what they do!  Good luck to you!!

Jennifer...I will have to look up all the Doc info and see what other people have to say about them.  I have looked at their stats but never looked at patient stats.  I want the lap band, because I do not want to be rerouted.. and be on a pill the rest of my life.  I have been on 11 different pills for the past 2 years and hate taking them.  I cannot imagine taking a suplement forever.  Just cant do it.  I have WELL over 100 pounds to lose.  I guess I will take all the advise from my Dr I choose what they think is best for me.  They do have a degree higher than I do to know what is best. Thanks for your information. Jodi :O)

Hi Jodi, We have corresponded back and forth a few times.  Let me put my vote in for a surgeon at MMPC  Both my husband and myself have had gastric bypass surgery done by Dr. Foote.  Dr. Foote also has done hernia repair and a tummy tuck on my husband.  Also Dr. Foote has done my gall bladder surgery and my revision on my RNY.  As you can see we really like Dr. Foote.  He is a very sincere, caring, informative not to mention great surgeon.  But we are alittle partial to Dr. Foote.  But let me relate this to you.  We all have our personal preferences on which dr. we feel is the best.  Because in our eyes our surgeon wether it be Drs. Baker, Foote or Kemmeter saved our lives and have helped us to live with out the extra weight.  You yourself will have to choose who you want.  It can be only your decision I know this decision is going to be a tough process to figure out.  But I will lsay no matter who you choose you are choosing an excellent surgeon.  You cant go wrong with any of the three surgeons at MMPC.  They are all extremely qualified and all have had training in emergency surgery.  So you are in good hands with them.  Also all three are Christian men and all three will help you with your decision if need be thru prayer.  Good luck Jodi....I wish you luck in your search Linda U. ps Hastings has a meeting this monday at 6:30. Come join us most of us have had our surgery at MMPC and all three of the surgeons have taken care of at least one of us.  So bring the questions we will be ready to help you. Reminder we meet at Pennock Hospital in a conference room adjoining the cafeteria.
