I have a little problem.    I can't eat.  Okay, that's not entirely true, I forget to eat.  Since I really have no appitite, sometimes I'll be doing things and five hours will go by without me eating. My sister says this slows down your weight loss.  Does it?  I know in my first 10 days, I lost 20 pounds, and since then have only lost four.  that's another almost three weeks.  I get enough protien in from my supplements, and drink enough water, but somtimes feel I need to set an alarm to remind me to eat.  Boy does that sound wierd thinking I need to be reminded to eat.  I needed a way to stop eating before.  Anyway, I started writing down what I eat, and yesterday, I ate about 750 calories, and that included my Suppliments.  Is this enough?  That was a good day for me too.  today was a bad one for me.  I've eaten some beans, and a couple of ounces of roast beef, and that's all.   I'm going back to work soon, and before the surgery I would go for most of the day without eating, because I would be so busy I didn't realize how fast the time would go by.   I don't want this to keep happening, so any suggestions would be great.  I'm still learning what my stomach will accept, and am getting a little bored with beans, cottage cheese and eggs.  I know It doesn't like fish, or turkey.  Well, thanks for listening, I appreciate it.   JO

I do that. Or did that and rarely do it now. I will forget to eat and get light headed. You have to eat on a schedule because you manually release nutrients to your body where before it was done from the reserve tank (stomach) via the pyloris valve. It will slow your weight loss because it spikes your insulin when you do eat, you eat too fats to catch up and your body goes into starvation mode. Eat every 2.5 to 3 hours. Set your cell phone to buzz you every 3 hours. kp

I have done that too. My docter told me that I needed to get at least 900 calories a day, and no more then 1200. So you might want to eat a little more. I don't think I have gotten enough calories in a day yet, but I have been close. I think we had our surgery around the same time, so I know how hard it is. I have set an alarm to remind me to eat. I eat 3meals and 3 snacks (as ordered by my nut.) So Good luck remembering, and it isn't bad to set a reminder alarm.

Well I think we all go through this stage where we are still listening to our stomachs.. I have found that if I have alot of different things available...It makes it easier to just grab and run. You should be getting in more calories or your body will go into starvation mode....But I am not a doctor so you should ask your nut...but from what everyone has said in the past and my own experience I have found this to be true....Good luck and eat eat eat.....lol

Hi Jo,    I was told my my WL doc & Nut that we need at least 80 grams of protein daily! If you don't care to eat that much at least get enough in protein or it will slow your weight loss! How far out are you in your WLS? I have a few suggestions eating wise: multi grain lowfat eng muff with peanutbutter, low carb wraps with lowfat cheese make like a grilled cheese sand., ball park fat free beef franks, 50 grand slam protein drink (GNC), yogart, beef jerky, lowfat canned hormel ham to make lowfat sand wrap, chic salad. If I knew how far you are out may be able to help more? I have found it is all trail and error but also following guidelines set within boundaries of your NUT. Maybe some soup and an extra scoop of unflavored protein mix.  I am 5 and a half months post op.. Best wishes, Hugs, Judy R
