Cross Your Fingers - OT
I got a call from the college library about an hour ago and I have an interview scheduled for 1:30pm tomorrow. I went ahead and signed up for the work study program and had put in FOUR applications this week.
IF I get the job, I probably won't be able to work more than 18 hours a week, but I can get up to $1875.00 (that's how much I'm allowed for the semester), or about $6.50 an hour. That would be for 16 weeks of work.
Let's see what happens!!
Rhonda - I'm so thrilled for you. Just look at where you are today compared to where you were just a year and a half ago!!!! You're working on getting a JOB!!! That's awesome!!! And school!! I'm so proud of all the effort you've put in - and you're now reaping the rewards of it.
You're such an inspiration for people never to give up on fighting for their surgery and their health!!!

Thank you so much for your well wishes. It wasn't the bariatric surgery so much that made me go out and get a job - I needed a job PEROID! Only getting $601/month from SSDI just isn't cutting it - I should be getting that A WEEK - and after taxes to boot!!
I also have to remember that this is just a TEMPORARY position, and if I get it, it's only because I am signed up with the Federal Work-Study program. Once the money is used up for the semester, that's it - no job!! Also, the amount I get is contingent on how many credit hours I've applied for (right now I have 9 credits).
