Problems With Painkillers Post WLS
I have had several incidents where I felt like I couldn't breathe. I decided it was trapped gas and prayed to not have it again.
Well, last night I took a Tylenol 3 because I've had a stiff neck for the past 5 days. (My doctor, who is an Osteopath, did an adjustment and it didn't help much since my problem is muscular.) 20 minutes later, I felt like someone was sitting on my chest. I couldn't talk and could barely breathe. I tried to calm myself down since I had had this feeling before.
As I lay there dying (at least it felt like it), I realized that every time I have this feeling, it's because I took a pain killer. The last two times I had taken Vicoden (in pill form for menstrual cramps) and had the same experience, lasting 6-8 hours.
I took Vicoden after surgery, but it was in liquid form and didn't have the same effect. Maybe it was because it was liquid, it was different than the pill form?
Has anyone else had issues post WLS with pain killers?

Some meds absorb quick and some go right through. T3 and 4s may jump your system. Ask your doc but I believe half the pill first then the other half 2 or three hours later may help you out.
I split my dope into quarters and spread them out.
