Hi. I recently, like 4 months ago, had Gastric Bypass, and everything was going great until 2 nights ago. I noticed i had a slight hard time sleeping on my stomach yet again. I woke up quite irritated the next morning and wondered if maybe i just slept on it wrong. Then tonight, I couldnt even lay down it hurt so much. I dont know what happened. The pain comes and goes, but when i stand up it subsides, but when i try to sit down it hits me, once im sitting im ok, but its driving me nuts, because whenever i eat or drink, even small amounts the pain increases. Does anyone know what I am going through. I currently have NO INSURANCE. to go see my surgeon would be a huge bill, and I just dont have the money. As a side note, a friend of mine just got sick not to long ago, she hasnt had an RNY and doesnt need one, and says her symptoms are the same as mine so could it just be a cold? or could this be more?

On the board diagnosis is a bad idea. I think your surgeon, regardless of insurance would like to know if you are experiencing pain. Certainly follow up visits are part of his/her original fees. Pain is nothing to play with. Even at 4 months you can still get an obstruction.

So call the Dr. and see what they say.

HI Friend,     I to agree with Kp; however a little advise is better than none at all; but please at least call your Dr. I had an ulcer and a stricture at this point in my recovery (both are very serious and can become even deadly)! Have you tried any antacids? When you eat does your food stay down? You can become vitamin deficent, dehydrated; and much more while waiting for problem to solve itself. Please take this seriously! Can you call the clinic where you had this done with ?'s; or call ask a nurse in your area? Don't ignore it; you could seriously hurt you more than it is already.. Please let us know how you are. Sincerely, Judy R

Thanks for the advice. I will be calling the place where I had it done. The pain has subsided, but im still worried. Also my food is staying down. I havent had a problem with that, I still havent thrown up or had dumping syndrome, which is why I was just hoping it didnt have to do with the surgery.
