Hello all, Okay, I went for the consultation in Holland, MI on Aug. 24, 2007 and today they called with a date for surgery!!!!!  whooooooweeeee     The date is Nov 19.  So to sum it up that is a total shy of 3 months from consult to surgery date.  I immediately scheduled the PCP, Stress Test, and Psyc eval the week after I went to consult. Results were back to Barix in less than three weeks.  I followed up with weekly phone calls to make sure nothing was misplaced, and asked how long before I'd be hearing anything.  I would follow up with a phone call if it went past that date.  I figured why let papers sit in a pile, if there is something else they need or if they are ready for insurance/doctor/approval??????  I never had to phone my PCP, nor man that did the Psych.  They were great getting all I needed to Barix.  My insurance is BCBS PPO of MI.  So.........I'm a Pre-Op soon to be on the bench. Thanks to all of you that blog.  Your information, experiences, have added to my much needed sense of what I'm doing is right for myself.

Your day will be here before you know it.  There is plenty of room on the bench.

Thanks,  I'm not quite realizing this  yet.  It will take a day or two before I believe it!  I'm sure I'll have my should I haves??? or did I really need to do this???? questions haunting me.  My DH is non supportive and acts like the whole ordeal is a PainIA.  Oh,,,,well this is my life and my choices.

Thanks Colleen, I'll be updating as things progress.  I really am going to try and get my profile page into some sort of pleasant reading experience for any possible readers.  I hope that things progress as quickly for you.  From what I've read there are some 'down' times, but I've not read one person, except a few lap banders that regretted the surgery.

You know, that is one thing that keeps me going...the fact that everyone so far that has had this surgery is very pleased with it.  Some may have a few complications, but for the most part it all turns out well. My two sisters that are one and two years post-op are so amazing. They look so healthy and are attractive  to boot!! My one sister would never go out dancing, now she goes dancing every Sat. night and loses weight from the exercise. I know this may be a dumb question, but I can't figure out how to put a picture in the profile spot. I sure would appreciate some help if you can. Take care and have a great week. colleen
