Supplemental Insurance

Hi everyone! I am seriously considering getting the RNY surgery to facilitate my weight loss. One wrinkle is that my company's insurance won't cover the surgery. I have scrimped and saved my pennies together to the point where I can afford it. The problem is that my company won't cover any post-surgical complications either. I'm really disappointed with them, but don't want to give up just yet. If there are any post-surgical problems, the cost of health care could be quite a bit of money. I don't want to risk bankrupting my family by having to pay out of pocket for post surgical care. I am wondering if anyone knows of any insurance plans that I could buy that would cover post surgical complications. I've looked all around and am stumped. If any of you have suggestions, I would love to hear them. Thanks!

I would look at Blue Cross they will cover surgical procedures but they might have a prexsisiting condition clause with personal policies and RnY would be considered that but they will also cover the surgery to.  Good Tricia

I already looked at Blue Care Network, they said they wouldn't sell me insurance since I already have insurance through my company. Catch-22. Maybe I'll talk to Blue Cross, though, perhaps they will sell me a policy. Thanks for the reply!
