Does anyone experience hungar besides me.  Sometimes when I'm hungary, I actually get sick to my stomach.  I wake up during the night and my stomach hurts so bad until I eat something.  I have even experienced dumping on an empty stomach. Before I had the WLS I had acid reflux and the symptoms were the same, when my stomach was empty I would get sick.   Kathy A.

I don't have this problem but perhaps keeping some whole wheat crackers next to your bed would help. Then you can just eat one or two to help your stomach in the night.  I did this when I was pregnant and would wake up sick to my stomach.  You can still get reflux after wls (a common misconception). You might want to get in to see your pcp and find out if this is what you have.  HUGS

Kathy, I'm one of those oh so lucky people that always feels hungry.  (Yes, I'm being sarcastic).  It was this way before surgery, and it's the same way now.  My little pouch growls the second it starts to get empty.  After surgery, probably at about 3 months...everyone kept telling me I couldn't possibly be hungry, but I was.  Even now, when I say I'm starving, people look at me like I'm crazy.  I eat a LOT, but I just have to make sure it's good stuff, or I'll be in trouble.  I think it's just the way we're made.  Keep a lot of low cal but filling snacks around and you should be ok.

Thanks ladies, at least I know I'm not crazy.  I will have to talk with the dr. regarding the acid reflux.  This isn't fun when your hurting all the time. Thanks again................Kathy A.

Kathy i have acid reflux, so bad actually that if i don't take my prevacid twice a day my voice is hoarse.      I never had it pre op .

I eat five or six times a day.    If i forget or get busy and miss my meal i'll start shaking and eventually pass out.   A lot of ppl dump from having an empty stomach too.   I keep jerky or string cheese if i know i'll be out.
