Upset Stomach Questions?

Good Afternoon Everyone! I had the lapband done on 8/06 and am doing good....but now i'm kind of stuck at a loss for a few things.  First off when you have an upset stomach or have the flu what do you use to settle it? I use to have a warm glass of coke with hardly any fizz in it and that would do the trick or I'd have crackers and coke....I'm curious to know what you all use now? Secondly, anyone here who has the lapband have been having any heartburn/acid reflux issues? I started getting it about two months ago and thought it would go away...now I can't even drink WATER because it causes it to go off....so i'm not sure if I need to talk to my pcp or my lapband doctor...any suggestions would help greatly! I hope you all have a great new year! ~ Erin

Call your surgeon asap and tell her that when you drink even water you get the "heartburn" feeling. No going on the board for pain advice. Call soon. kp

no i don't.  The thing is that I know it's not my band slippage because I had an adjustment last month and I also know the signs....but when i did talk to my new doctor and he said that most patients who never had that 30-40% get it. As for the water thing...I forgot to mention that it would be dependant on what I ate.  I think I may have found the acid issue with a certain food group so i'm going to try and not eat it for a week and see if i still have the issue, if i do then i'll call my doctor.

i thought the only way to tell for sure if a band had slipped was an xray...wow... you figured out another way I didnt know that. what about being over filled?

lol.  No I didn't figure out another way I asked the doctor and also googled it as well.  Basically from what I was told and read that you aren't able to keep anything down not even water and that you feel some sort of discomfort which I don't feel (for band slippage).  Now, I've had my pouch stretched out before and that was interesting... That could be an option...I never thought about that but isn't if it's overfilled you would throw up alot? The water thing I figured out last night...the water where I currently live has something in it that's too strong and causes me to have that feeling where as the water where my parent's live and water you would get out of bottles doesn't cause me to have that feeling.  So I'm okay on that part! Thanks for all your help! - Erin B.
