I had my sleep study done last night, I got about 1hr of sleep, they didn't put c-pap on. Do they let you know right at the sleep lab if you have apnea or does your Dr. let you know that? I guess my brain was not working being with out sleep, all she said was I did snore a little, I hope I dont ever have to do that again, has anyone had to repeat it ever also?  thanks for your info.

Hi Rebecca.. I had to do it twice.  I slept once then had an appointment wit the Doc and he told me my results.. then I ASKED to have another study.  I did not feel like my sleep cooperated with me so I did it again. The second time they found out I had Narcolopsy.  So I'm glad I pushed for a second study. Its normal to think you did not get alot of sleep. I'm sure you got enough for them to get some answers. Good luck EDITED I then went for an all day study and THAT is when they found out I had the narcolopsy.  The all day study was 4 different half our naps.  And when you can fall into REM sleep with in 36 seconds, that is when they know you have Narcolopsy.

I have never had a sleep study done... but my son who is only 4 years old has had two done already...  The first one they found out he had Restless Leg Syndrome and the second they found out that he had "periodic moments of minimized oxygen to his lungs", but he DIDn't snore... even though he snores like it is going out of style at home... Go figure... I really don't completely trust those studies because they are not the same situation and settings as the ones you really sleep in... plus all the wires and crap... Anyway... that is my two cents.... Sorry if I didn't help much....  Good luck with your journey.... HUGS,
