Doctors office STILL hasn't sent in my paperwork (xpost)
I will preface this by saying I work at the hospital my surgeon works at. His practice is owned by the hospital and is in a medical office wing of the hospital. I see him daily, work closely with him (I work in surgery). So for me this is a little sticky....
So, I had my NUT consult on 2/3. He told me at my consult visit that as soon as the NUT sent him the letter he would send everything in to the ins. co. The NUT sent the letter the same day. I saw him on 2/4 (at work) and he told me the office staff was sending everything it that day.
I couldn't stand it any longer and called the ins. co. 1 week later (2/11) to see if I was approved. They stated they didn't have anything yet. I called the surgeon to see if the ins co was lying. Nope, she said the letter the surgeon wrote had to be corrected, and was sent back to the transcriptionist and as soon as they got it back they would send it out.
Last Thursday (2/14) my surgeon approached me at work. He said Jodi (ins. specialist) had pointed out that he still hadn't proofed/approved/signed the letter. He signed it and told her to send it out ASAP. He apologized, said it was his fault. I appreciated his honesty. He could have easily blamed it on his staff etc.
So this Tuesday (2/19) my HR rep called to see if I needed any help with ins co (that's a whole other story). I told her no, Dr. Sabir had submitted everything I was waiting for approval. She said she just spoke with the ins co and they said they didn't have anything on me yet. So I called Jodi (ins spec). She said now they are waiting for additional information from the nutritionist ("Ann") (she's not the NUT I saw from Bariatric center) I've been seeing for 2 years in an attempt to loose wt. Ann sent the initial stuff they requested in JANUARY!!!! It took them until now to realize they were missing all of my weights from her for the last 2 years. Good grief, they didn't look at it when it came so now they need more documentation from her. Of course, she's out of the office this week b/c of a family emergency. No one else can access my files, so she'll be back on Monday and hopefully will send the stuff right over so they can send it out then...almost 3 weeks later than they were supposed to!
I'm trying hard to have patience. But this is stretching it. I think he should have at least given me a Rx for Xanax to get me through this process (JK).
I just had to vent. I'm about to go nuts. DH and I are going away for the weekend. It's our first time away since the baby was born in Sept so it's a much needed/anticipated getaway. I'm going to try to put it all out of my head, not worry/obsess about it this weekend.
This was long, if you made it this far, thanks for "listening".
