Hi! Made it to the orientation!
WOW!!! That was fast. There will be some hoops you have to jump through but I think this all goes so fast. I started in November and I am having my surgery in 10 days. What took he longest was getting approval from my slep Dr because it was found that I had sleep apnea and had to use a cpap machine for a month before he would release me for surgery. But I appreciate the fact that they check out everything and make sure you are in the optimum health for surgery. Good luck on your journey! Carole
That is about the time frame they used for me as well. What sort of insurance do you have? They tried scheduling me just a couple weeks after my orientation on 2/4/08, but my schedule wouldn't cooperate. My appointment with Dr. Kemmeter and with the behaviorist is on Monday, 3/17/08. Which internist were you scheduled with? I saw Dr. White. She was a little abrupt but definitely willing to answer questions and honest about everything. They are very busy at MMPC.. but I think you definitely get out of them what you put in. If you are happy and positive, they definitely respond to that. I also had a visit with the nutritionist.. Christine.. she was awesome. I loved her. I had previously been to diabetic education at Spectrum, so she didn't do a lot with me as far as diet for now. She did fill me in on the requirements for diet postop though.. protein, protein, water, and protein!
Good with your appointments.. they will go faster than you think!
Hi Jodie- I have bcbs ppo. I am scheduled on 3/19 with Dr. Gawel. I suppose they have to be kinda abrupt to get through all the pt's that they see! Yea I had started to look at your profile and see that you are a transcriptionst, too. Do you do local docs or online? It is nice to be able to work from home. Good luck at your appt on Monday!
