Ok, we went to one of my husband's aunt's house.  His family (and mine) are all Kentucky hillbillies (we go to the "holler" to visit relatives) and THEY CAN COOK!  OMG....we had ham, pork, meatloaf, mashed potatoes, green beans, corn, green bean casserole, dumplings, rolls, cheesy rice and broccoli, some squash dish, candied sweet potatoes, about 20 different salads.  AND then there's the desert table.  Two different types of cobbler, butterscotch pie (to die for and I probably would've had I had some - was my fave before WLS!), cheesecake, some miscellaneous bundt cakes, etc.  I'm sure there were other little things I missed, but wow....the food is ALWAYS good at his family get togethers.  Wait a minute....good doesn't even begin to describe it!  BTW....I took caramel apple salad, sugar free.....I didn't have any of it while I was there.  I opted for peach cobbler instead.  That'll hold me til Thanksgiving!

We had a simple dinner of Prime Rib, Baked Potatoes, baked beans and grean beans.   BTW, thanks Jenn for the wonderful prime rib recipe.  My husband said it was the best he ever had, which says alot, he is a beef freak.   My dear son got 3 huge baskets today.  More candy than he will eat for 6 months.  He just isn't a candy freak.  Doesn't care for chocolate (didn't get that from me).   Happy Easter everyone Pam

My kids and husband love ham and my mother in law used to make it for them every Easter. She passed away in October of Lung cancer, and the thought has been bugging me, am I going to have to cook this "squeaky" meat for my family? Well, somethings are just too important. They ate ham, sweet potatoes, cooked carrots, green bean casserole, rolls and butter, and I made a wonderful cornish game hen with a orange marmalade glaze with some wild rice and broccoli for myself.. They got their traditional dinner- I sat with my ipod and headset on so I didn't have to hear the meat squeak as they chewed..(sorry, I don't like an smoked, salted meats)I would never make it in the woods- Give me a Florida beach any time. Happy Easter.. Family, gotta love em. wigglypoo .... Anyone doing the 5k(or 10k) in Grand Rapids On May 10th? I have been training for 6 weeks already-- looking for other willing participants....I jog(not fast) I do not sprint..Just trying to keep moving and get this weight to leave again...

My kids had me up early they made a bunny trap but no bunny was in it when they got up. I got to choose from 3 flavors of shakes, broth, jello, and for a treat popcicles.  yum!  I did cook a beatiful ham and took it to my sisters house.  They had quite the spread there and all I got to do was smell and look at it.  but I am proud to say I did not eat any.  I did eat the white of an easter egg before we went over there,.  I shouldn't have but I did.  Other than that it was a great time with the family.    Hope everyones easter was wonderful!
