Luck of the "Call"

As some of you know I am new to this whole thing... So, I finally got insurance and finally was able to get into see a real family dr.  I called the other day at Henry Ford, and made an appt.  I seen Dr. Hasan today and let me tell you, he is great.  I told him I was there to do what I needed to do to take the steps for WLS.  He said and I quote "OH! Absolutely!"  He was very willing to help me do what I need to do... He said becaue I do snore, badly sometimes, that he has referred me to a sleep center.  So I have that appt on April 9, for a consultation.  I told him my insurance does not require dieting and such, and he said a that he would rather have me go to the weight managment center and let them be involved also. But as long as he is willing to work with me, I am good! Then I decided to tell my mom about my decision and she was on the fence when my sister had her band placed and when I told her I have good news and bad news but I want all the negativity OUT so I don't have to deal with it when I see her this weekend, (we are coming to saginaw for the weekend).  She was nervous, and I told her and she said "that is great! How is that bad news?" I told her that when my sister had it done I remember them talking about how she will eat herself out of the band and that it won't work... and she said she was proven wrong and if she was able to get it done, she would also. But she has no insurance and no money.   So... I have had a great day... Thanks for listening...  Christina btw, I titled it luck of the "call" because you are placed with ANY dr at the time you CALL, so his name was pulled for me :)

I did not know that Henry Ford did their calls like this. There is a Henry Ford Dr that is closer to you in Wyandotte. He is Dr Steven Hendrick. I followed him to his new office there a couple of years ago. Dr Hendrick has the same thoughts as Dr Hasan. Let the weight management center be in assistance. He has all of his patients work with his dietician so that they can learn a new way to eat.  I am glad you are happy with your choice though. Suzanne
