6lbs ain't bad for one week pre-op. Most people I talked to lossed around 20lbs pre +post-op. So your doing fine. Only thing you can do is follow your pre-op diet and that should shrink liver just fine. I also hearde staying away from sugars will help shrink it as well. Lately, I've been hearing more doctors don;t even do pre op diets to shrink livers. I never heard of a doctor not doing the surgery because the liver was too large.

"Only"????
Honey, you're doing GREAT!!! 6 lbs is equal to 30 sticks of butter! Or more than a bag of flour! Or a nice bag of potatoes! That's heavy, six pounds!
6 lbs is a wonderful step towards improving your health and every single one of those 6 pounds makes a big difference in the success of and recovery from your surgery. If dieting were an easy fix, we wouldn't need surgery, would we?
Already you're on the track to success. Saying "only" six pounds undercuts all of your hard work. So drop that little stinker right now or you'll find yourself "only-ing" your way through your post-op weight loss, too. Bad, nasty little word!
So keep moving forward and do your best to eat healthy as a pre-op.
Say bye-bye to "only"! Shout with a big smile "HEY! LOOK AT ME!! I'VE LOST SIX HUGE POUNDS! WHOOHOO!!"
