The facility was first rate, lunch was OH friendly and good, the speakers I heard were inspiring and knowledgeable.  I hope you will develop enough business to make it worth your while. Once again, the event did not offer much for non-ops, but it had plenty for pre and posts.  There were serious doses of reality about regain and old habits outdoing any surgery.  The only missing workshop was on how to get insurance to cover more needs.  Some wls methods are less popular with insurers, and many of us are in need of reconstructive surgeries. Things ran very smoothly, I'm sure gas prices helped to keep the crowds away.  Again, thanks!

I never counted more than 60, and that included advertizers and speakers (who were also advertising).

I'm glad you guys had a good time. Do you think they listened to some of the feedback about last year in order to improve yesterday's experience? Hopefully each year will get better and better. So now here's the question.........when are we going to plan our next non-sponsored Michigan board outing??

I was also impressed with lunch, facilities and the speakers.  I especially enjoyed the first half of the day.  Dr. Sayeg was very entertaining as well as informational.  Dr. Pleatman tells it like it is and I really enjoyed his candor.  Laura (I forgot her last name) was energetic, hilarious and honest.  I could totally relate to her story. The goodies we got were pretty good too.  A huge thank you to all of the sponsors. Jenn

How could you forget  "I'm Laura Preston, Vice President etc. etc." I thought her presentation was pretty cool too. It did have a lot of polish/sell but hey we were in Detroit right? I don't think there's a Lifetime fitness out in GR but downtown is pretty locked up with http://www.grymca.org/ddhunting

I never counted people either.  And yes I think that they did listen to what we said about last years event.  The luncheon was very WLS friendly, and the speakers were much better than last years. I enjoyed myself.  The only thing that might have been improved is a little more time to socialize.  There were many there from Ohio. Jeanne

I agree that it would have been interesting to have had some actual insurers, HMOs etc. speak at this. I liked the facility but the lobby area was too hot and the bathrooms were nearly oppressive heat wise. One of the dermal demonstration machines failed in the lobby area from the heat/humidity. The lunch was top shelf, I wish I could have had it for dinner. I would have preferred spinach instead of the assorted greens to put on my sandwich. I recognize most are used to lettuce on sandwiches but I'll never understand preferring that over baby leaf spinach. There were a lot of caffeinated beverages too. Decaf tea would have been nice. The lemons were great. Maybe some crystal lite like drinks? The water pitchers on the table were great! I think I killed two of those on my own. It was great meeting everyone and the speakers had a lot of energy and great focus/knowledge on their individual areas. The staff from OH were very engaging and friendly too. I suppose that goes with their territory but I was impressed. Here's a link to my ride out there (also the run the next day) for those that talked about it. http://mikeingr.motionbased.com
