BCN and BMI over 50 ????

Hi, Nishia!  I called BCN and was told that they only approve bariatric surgery at Centers of Excellence.  Henry Ford and Harper University Hospital are the two I was given.  William Beaumont said they will be a Center of Excellence in about 4 months, but no surgeon there has ever done VSG.  What does BCN require in the way of a psyche evaluation?  And can any psycho-therapist provide this in order to be accepted?  I'm not worried about flunking the evaluation; I'm concerned that I'll waste a vacation day going to the wrong type of professional only to have BCN say they are not qualified. 

Sorry for the late reply, I have been busy trying to get everything done at work for when I am off.  Anyway, for the psych eval, I called BCN and the gave me a list of providers to select from.  Since I live in Grand Rapids and work in Lansing, I went to a professional in Lansing.  If you have any other questions about BCN  just send me a message.  I got very frustrated with BCN cause I was getting different answers, so I asked to speak to a supervisor and I always took names.  I hope they are better now since the changes took effect in Jan.  Good luck.
